We drove to Winton for swimming sports. We waited for our names to be called. We watched the other childern race before us.We cheered for all the Waianiwa swimmers. Dean Grant competed in the boys year 5's race and won easily. Finally Kaleb's name was called out. So he walked over to the starting line beside the pool. The race started and Kaleb set off in a flash. He got 1st in both swimming races. My group was called next.So we stood by the starting line.We started swimming and I had two 4ths in my race. I was feeling happy because I didn't come last.

Ranfurly Shield
We were a amazed when we first saw the Ranfurly Shield. Two Stags players came to show us the Ranfurly Shield. Matt Saunders told us about what happened when they won it and how many people were there at the airport to congratulate them.
We got to hold the Shield and Miss Still took a photo of our class and the school. Each class cheered loudly when they're photo was taken.
It was great because I got to hold the Ranfurly Shield after Catherine.

Amazing Athletics
When we got off the bus at Drummond we were amazed at the number of people there. The girls and boys were organised into age groups and sent to the different events to compete and complete the challenges. We competed against Heddon Bush and Central Southland Rural Primary children in discus, shot put, long jump, high jump and running races. There was tasty food to give us energy. At the end of the day we were all puffed, tired and couldn't feel our legs at all.

Camp Columba
What a great time we had at camp. We did so many fun activities including sliding down the concrete slide in our wool packs although some of us were airborne . We had lots of team building activities to complete which involved us working together to get across the 'Pit of Doom'. We would like to say a big thank you to all the parents and teachers who helped make camp possible.
